Nagoya
From Takayama, I took a train to Nagoya. This route is included in Takayama pass and reservations can be made free of charge. For a more organized journey, I made a reservation the day before their scheduled departure.

On the way to Nagoya
I arrived at Nagoya station at around 11.00 am. As usual, I went to the information desk to get some information. Through the internet, I found out about MeGuru bus tourist bus in the city of Nagoya. I went to the counter just to ask for directions to get this loop bus.
The counter staff tried very hard to explain, with the English language quite hard to understand. But I appreciate his determination to explain. I tried to follow the directions given. How easy it is to find the place, while the way his explanation seems very difficult.
1 day Nagoya Pass is available for a price of 800 yen only for 2-way. In the map are set sights that can be visited at Nagoya. This pass is for transportation only, not included with admission.

3. Midland Square and the Twin Towers of the JR Nagoya Station
Completed in 1999, the JR Central Towers rise elegantly above Nagoya Station. The building consists of the 245 meter tall Office Tower and the slightly shorter and slimmer Hotel Tower. The neighboring Midland Square surpassed the JR Central Towers in 2007 as Nagoya's tallest building.
The JR Central Towers stand on top of JR Nagoya Station.

After
visiting Nagoya, I headed to the next destination, Kyoto. I will stay
for 2 nights in Kyoto.Nagoya-Kyoto route is not included in Takayama
Pass. There are several options to Kyoto:
1. Shinkansen - 6000 Yen (50 minutes)
2. Normal trains - 2500 Yen (2 hours 30 minutes)
3. Bus - 2500 Yen (about 2 hours 40 minutes)
To try the bullet train to save some time, I finally decided to take the Shinkansen although it a bit pricy.

Kyoto
Kyoto is famous as a tourist area. It has many natural attractions and sightseeing rich in culture and tradition, as well as architecture. In Kyoto, I spent the night in Origami Guesthouse for 2 nights worth 6000 Yen. It's a women's dormitory for 4 people. Clean, tidy but quite small.
Halal food? I actually have a little trouble to look for it. Japan can now be regarded as a Muslim-friendly country to attract more Muslim tourists to visit their country. As you surf the internet, you will find quite a few Muslim-friendly restaurants, but mostly it requires a 3-day advance booking. I can not think how to make a reservation when I stay in one place for less than 3 days!
Therefore, I have no choice but to eat whatever is available such as bread, fruit, etc. Not far from my stay, there is also a mini-market which sells cooked food. They have provided rice, squid, fish, and other foods in a separate package at an affordable price. So I bought it separately and then I heat it together to make a complete dinner.
