Hello Perth!

The City of Perth

It was Sunday in Perth, sunny but very pleasant weather. From Mandurah, we arrived at Perth around 10.00 am and checked in Mountway Holiday Apartment, Mount Street, Perth. It was early to check in, but the nice receptionist allowed us to check in earlier and gave us a very good briefing about Perth city and the transportation.

We left the apartment soon after we kept the luggage in the room. First - to find breakfast! We were walking along the streets. Many shops still did not open at this hour. There were Sunday Street Market along the Market Street. This was the heart of Perth and also the shopping area.

The Perth City Centre also offered tourists a wealth of great shopping opportunities. Whether it was souvenirs, Aboriginal Art and crafts, fashion, swimming and beach wear, jewellery, cameras and high tech items, the vast array of shops available offer an extensive range of choices, from shopping malls and department stores, to cafes, restaurants and food halls. Some of the most popular shopping areas to visit include the The Hay St Mall, Murray St Mall, Raine Square, Forest Chase, Barrack St and Kings Street, however there are many other malls to visit as well.

Fremantle

We took a ferry to Fremantle with AUD20 per person. The boat captain was the tourist guide as well. He was non-stop talking and telling the stories about Perth, Australia, and everything along the Swan River. It tool almost 40 minutes to reach Fremantle and it was almost 4 pm. We had to walk about 5 minutes from the ferry pier to the next bus stop.

Fremantle Market

Fremantle Market closed every Monday. So, it was the best time to for us to visit on Sunday. Fremantle Market was similar to Central Market in Malaysia, I would say. I did not really catch my attention to buy anything. Therefore, we continued walking and look for the famous fish and chips in Fremantle.

We were then took a train back to Perth City with only AUD4.20 per person.

Harbour Town

We went to Harbour Town on the next day. I heard it was a shopping outlets. Yes, it was. But it was not what I had expected. There were only few common brands and I tell you what, shopping in Australia was not cheap. Most of the items was imported from China and India. So it was better if you buy China made products somewhere else instead of shop here.

The Kings Park

We had a walk at King's Part before we left to the airport to return to Malaysia. King's Park was just about 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel apartment. It was morning and we enjoyed the breathtaking views.

King's Park was a memorial park where we could see many memorial were built in remembering the the World War II.

Enough taking pictures, we were then had a coffee break at the central of the park and enjoyed the scenery without knowing when we will coming back here.

We left to our hotel to pick up our luggage and heading to the airport. The taxi far was AUD50 which exactly according to our budget.

~Till then. Bye Perth~
