Pre-Post::The Adventures of Ho Chi Minh, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap on May 2013
Planning
for a backpacking trip was not always easy for me. It requires a deep study
about the destination, culture, local currency, and most importantly the places
that I plan to go at each destinations.
This
time around, my crime partner, Zack and I will go to do the cross-country
again. We choose to go to Ho Chi Minh,Vietnam, travel to Phnom Penh on the next
day, Cambodia and straight away go to Siem Reap, which is also in Cambodia. The
travel duration is only 3 days! I really hope we can make it.
Well, talking
about preparation, there is not much thing we can do except for planning for
the itineraries. There are a lot of resources will be used as references
inclusive of our friends' experiences. The most challenging part (I guess so),
is the currency used in these countries. In Vietnam, they are using US Dollar,
Vietnamese Dong and some places accepting Malaysia Ringgit while in Cambodia,
they are using US Dollar as the main currency as well as Cambodian Riel.
Therefore, I'm facing some difficulties to allocate each currency for this
trip. I have booked for our accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City for the first
night and another one at Siem Reap on the third night. 2 bunker beds in female
bedroom only costs us USD6 for 1 bed. This means it is only MYR18.20 each!
Since I plan to look for Deuter Bag at HCM or Phnom Penh, I'm not going to
bring so many luggage. In fact, I plan to bring my things only on plastic bag.
Hahaha. Just kidding. Can't wait to execute this trip. Wait for the full entry
once I came back later.
To be continued....
