Going down from the mountain was even tougher. However, at least the time taken was faster than going up. The walking stick and knee guards were really helpful. I got less pain when wearing the knee guard, I guess. We were not really taking pictures because it was raining all day long. We started to go down from Waras Hut at 10.00 am and managed to reach Kinabalu Park around 2.15 pm. We stopped only for a while at every shelters and did not stop at all at final 2 shelters.

Mempening Shelter |
It was so great to hear the sound of waterfall and we knew that we were reaching the Timpohon Gate. After passing by the Carson Waterfall, there was another disaster when we have to climb last stairs to reach Timpohon Gate. Our leg could accept any more pressures. We were forcing ourselves and yes, we finally did it!

Breezy Kinabalu Park |
It was very sad to say goodbye to all the climbers. We didn't really asked for their name but all of them are very friendly (some are cute too!). A van picked us at the gate and heading to Kinabalu Park to take our certificate (black and white only) and had our lunch at Blossom Cafe. Ok, this was another disaster. The cafe located downhill from the park's office. Can you imagine that we have to go down and climb back again after our legs were almost off. The lunch was very light but enough for us.

Only black and white certificate..so sad |
Our tour driver already waiting for us since morning. We left Kinabalu Park and heading to KK to get hot shower (I really missed that) and rest. It was raining (again), we were too tired and then fall asleep after took shower and packing our stuff.
Your friends connection is very important when you are travelling. Please get someone that can entertain you when you are visiting their place. It was one lucky night that Zack's ex-boss was also at KK for business trip. He has a local friend, a UiTM Sabah lecturer and they took us for dinner at Kg. Nelayan. Both of them named Lan, so we called them Paklan Kuasa Dua. There was cultural show performed by local dancer every night at this restaurant. We reached there in middle of the shows.

Look at our menu. Of course, it wasn't chosen by us. The two guys made the order and they paid them..hehe. In another word, we ate it for free! Guess how much it costs us? It was RM345. Gulp! There was shrimps (fried and boiled), softshell crab, vegetable (they call it sayur licin), egg soup, sweet and sour fish (I don't know the name) and completed with the desert, coconut pudding. Yummeh!

That was not least. Lan said he wanted to introduce us to Yoyo Milky Tea (even we already try it). At first, I thought he's bringing us to Centre Point but there were actually a double story Milky Tea outlet on the way back to our hostel. He treated us Milky Tea with Coconut Jelly. The taste was so nice, and some more, it was free!

Done with dinner and desert, we were sent to our hotel by these two generous men. They were funny, and we really had fun hang out with them. Our flight back to KL was on 7.05 am on the next morning and I have to sleep early. We returned to our room to pack up our last things and left the hostel at 5.30 am. We already book a taxi to KKIA Terminal 2 but the charges was RM45 as it was consider midnight charge (12 am-6am).

We arrived at LCCT around 9.45 am and separately went home with a very memorable and worth experience, plus with the painful legs. We plan to repeat and this time we'll make sure we reach the summit.
Thank you for reading. Till then..
